Osimhen hits hat-trick, Misoi wins Frankfurt Marathon

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen’s hat-trick saw Napoli of Italy continue their winning run as they thrashed Sassuolo 4-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Napoli is now unbeaten in their last 16 Serie A matches and has won their previous 13 games, with Osimhen in spectacular form.

Senegal’s Sadio Mane scored once and had two assists as Bayern Munich massacred Mainz 6-2. Cameroonian Eric Choupo-Moting completed the rout when he netted the sixth goal. The win at Mainz saw six different scorers for Bayern Munich in their Bundesliga encounter.

Ghana’s Thomas Partey was on target as Arsenal claimed a 5-0 victory against Nigerian Taiwo Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest. The 29-year-old fired from outside the box to score the game’s fourth goal for the Gunners who won the match at the Emirates.

Egypt’s Mohamed Salah extended his incredible scoring record against Leeds United to seven goals as Liverpool lost its first home league match in 29 games. Mohamed Salah scored but Liverpool suffered a bitter 2-1 loss to Leeds United after conceding a late goal in the Premier League.

Kenya’s Brimin Misoi and compatriot Selly Chepyego ran solo races as they secured a Kenyan double by winning the men’s and women’s races at the Frankfurt Marathon in Germany. Chepyego won the women’s race, timing 2:23:11 while Hellah Kiprop finished second in a time of 2:24:39. Jackline Chepngeno completed a Kenyan podium sweep at third place after clocking 2:25:14.

Moroccan Taoufik Allam and Ethiopian Nigist Muluneh won the 2022 Dublin Marathon. Muluneh ran 2:28:32 to win the women’s race while Allam broke the tape at 2:11:30 to claim the men’s title.
