Al Ittihad insists on $162m Salah offer “includes Joe Gomez in Liverpool raid”

Saudi Arabia football outfit, Al-Ittihad are not ready to give up in their pursuit of Liverpool and Egypt’s star, Mohammed Salah.

They have reportedly tabled a €150 million ($162 million) offer for the 31-year-old despite Liverpool’s insistence that their playmaker is not for sale. However, the Saudi Pro League champions are willing to sanction a deal that would far exceed their country’s transfer record, the $97 million Al-Hilal paid for Neymar earlier this month.

It is believed that the agreement would include approximately $108 million in guaranteed payments to Liverpool, as well as an additional $54 million in performance-related bonuses.

In another twist, Al-Ittihad are also pushing on to sign Liverpool’s defender, Joe Gomez. The 26-year old has been in and out of the Liverpool starting line up over the last few years, but the club’s gaffer, Jurgen Klopp will be reluctant to lose the 26-year-old this late in the window.

The English Premier League and other top European football transfer windows closes on September 1, this has created a massive conundrum for some top teams as the Saudi’s window ends on September 20, almost three weeks after.

With Salah’s chances of joining the Saudi team increasing by the hour, reports have emerged that Liverpool are planning to capture Atletico Madrid’s Joao felix as Mohammed Salah’s replacement.
