Atiku Set to Address Tinubu’s CSU Certificate Controversy in Global Press Conference Today

The issue of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records released by the Chicago State University (CSU) will be the focus of a press conference by the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, today.

According to a statement issued by his campaign team, the press conference will take place at the Yar’Adua Centre in the afternoon, and the exact time will be announced soon.

The statement urged the media to attend the event, where Atiku is expected to comment on the discrepancies between Tinubu’s 1979 CSU certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the samples of the certificates the University issued to students that same year.

The statement reads, “This is to inform and invite you to the World Press Conference of Our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, at the Yar’Adua Centre, Tomorrow, Thursday 5, October 2023, in the afternoon.

“The exact time will be communicated shortly. Please endeavor to attend. Thank You.”

Atiku had obtained Tinubu’s education records from the CSU through a court subpoena, despite the President’s objection.

The records, which were released on October 3 and a deposition on Tuesday, showed that Tinubu’s certificate could not be authenticated by the CSU Registrar under oath.

Atiku had not made any public statement since the release of the documents.
