After winning the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) House of Representatives ticket, popular artist Olubankole Wellington, often known as Banky W, expressed his gratitude.
Banky W will contest for the legislative seat of Eti-Osa Federal Constituency on the platform of the PDP.
He received 24 votes in the re-run election on Monday, defeating Sam Aiboni, who received only five votes.
Banky W thanked everyone for their support in helping him secure the Party’s ticket in an Instagram post.
“I want to thank the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Leaders for encouraging me to join the family and empowering me to stand on our great platform,” the musician added.
“I want to express my gratitude to our party’s members and delegates for embracing, trusting, and electing me to represent the magnificent constituency of Eti-Osa in Lagos by a landslide.”
“I’d like to congratulate my formidable opponent, Barrister Sam Aiboni – we’re not opponents inside the PDP; we’re brothers on the same side, and I believe that our shared love for our community will serve as a bridge for us to work together for our people’s advancement and prosperity.”
“Above all, I want to express my gratitude to the almighty God for the gift of life and purpose.” Without His Grace, I am nothing.
“I hope we keep in mind that this isn’t about me; it’s about us all.”
