Canada Unveils New Immigration Levels Plan Amidst Labour Shortage

The Canadian government has revealed plans to recruit 500,000 immigrants per year by 2025. This will aid in addressing the country’s labour shortage.

Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, released the 2023-2025 Immigration Levels Plan. He stated that the plan was created to assist businesses in finding workers with the skills they require in critical areas of the economy.

According to the immigration ministry’s report, Canada appears to be experiencing a labour shortage. This has created some uncertainty for the country’s businesses and workers.

Canada welcomed over 405,000 immigrants last year. This was the highest number recorded in a single year.
