The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Maiduguri Zonal Command, has secured the conviction and sentencing of Aisha Alkali Wakil, aka Mama Boko Haram, alongside Prince Lawal Shoyode and Tahiru Saidu Daura before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri.

VIP magazine reports that Wilson Uwujaren, the Commission’s spokesman, announced this in a statement late Tuesday night.

He stated that the defendants were sentenced to five years in prison without the option of a fine on Tuesday.

“The judgment was the culmination of a process that began on Monday, September 14, 2020, when the defendants were re-arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence totalling N71,400,000 (Seventy-One Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira) only,” he added.
