Harry Kane is reportedly open to signing a new contract with Tottenham – one year on from his Manchester City transfer saga.
The Italian manager has offered hope that the north London club can challenge for silverware – something which Kane’s career is severely lacking in. So according to the Evening Standard, a new deal is on the cards.
Kane was pushing to join City last summer but had his request to leave snubbed by chairman Daniel Levy, who refused to budge on his mega asking price believed to be in the region of £150million. But the 28-year-old’s Spurs career has been revived since Antonio Conte’s arrival.
England captain Kane is said to be impressed by Tottenham’s progress after they pipped rivals Arsenal to Champions League qualification at the end of the season.
He is waiting on the outcome of Conte’s talks with director of football Fabio Paratici this week. But should his manager be backed as planned, then he will be happy to enter talks when he returns for pre-season next month.
