As one of the side attractions at the ongoing football tournament in Qatar, Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel performed on Wednesday, November 23 at the Qatar World Cup music festival.

Kizz Daniel performed a diverse range of his hit songs to over 40,000 fans, many of whom sang along, including “Buga,” “Cough, “Lie,” “Pour Me Water,” “One Ticket,” and many others. His performance was with a live band and some of the best dancers backing him up. The fans were overjoyed and could be heard singing along and requesting more.

Kizz Daniel was previously announced as one of the headlining artists for the Qatar World Cup on November 11. This came after he expressed his desire to perform his hit song “Buga” at the World Cup via Twitter a few months ago.

The performance is a continuation of “FIFA Sound,” a type of entertainment aimed at strengthening the bond between music and the beautiful game of football, according to the world football governing body.

The musician’s World Cup performance is another highlight for the artist, who has had a hugely successful 2022 and is one of Africa’s biggest artists. His hit single “Buga” captivated both young and old listeners, and it is without a doubt one of the most popular African songs of 2022.

Kizz Daniel was the only African performer among five international winners. His performance has also contributed to the global expansion of Afrobeats.
