President Muhammadu Buhari has conferred national honours on Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, 2face Idibia, and Teni the Entertainer in recognition of their significant contributions to the Nigerian music industry.

The event was held at the State House in Abuja, and 447 recipients from various walks of life were honoured in various categories for their contributions to Nigerian society.
Burna Boy, who won a Grammy for his album “Twice as Tall,” was named a Member of the Federal Republic (MFR). However, he was unable to attend the award ceremony, but was represented by his father.

In a similar vein, veteran musicians 2face Idibia and Teni the Entertainer were conferred with the award of Member of the Order of Niger (MON).
President Buhari praised the artists for repositioning Nigeria’s entertainment industry and putting it on the global map, and stated that citizens who contribute to national development should be recognised and supported.
