A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Wuse has remanded Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late gospel singer Osinachi, in Kuje prison.
Nwachukwu will be held in custody until the end of his trial, according to Justice Ngozi Nwosu-Iheme.
Despite Nwachukwu’s plea of not guilty to the 23-count charge against him, the high court judge delivered her short ruling ordering the defendant’s remand pending the hearing and determination of the suit.
Following the death of his wife, the Federal Government filed charges ranging from domestic violence to homicide.
She granted an accelerated hearing and adjourned the trial until June 16 at noon.
Osinachi died as a result of alleged domestic violence by Nwachukwu.
