Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has called on other candidates to pause their campaigns in order to assist flood victims across the country.
Peter Obi made this statement to journalists at the Benue House in Abuja, where he expressed his condolences to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and the people of Benue state.

According to him, Nigeria is greater than everyone, and he urged everyone to put aside their political differences and work together to ensure a better future for the next generation.
He also stated that he has told his team that there will be no more campaigns until they are able to visit some of the sites and sympathise with some of the flood victims.
He said that if the Presidential candidates can spend millions on campaigns and nomination forms, they should be able to divert some of the funds to flood victims.
Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom welcomed Peter Obi’s visit and stated that if he had been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, he would have campaigned for him (PDP).
