Barely a few hours after Presidential Aspirant Mr. Peter Obi announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), there are heavy reports of him considering a major move to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP)
Mr. Obi, a major contender in the Presidential race, resigned from the PDP in a letter dated 24th May 2022.
He cited recent developments within the party as making it difficult to keep participating and making constructive contributions.
There are wide speculations that Mr. Obi will probably pitch his tent with the NNPP. Furthermore, there is hope among Obi supporters that Mr. Obi and Senator Kwankwaso will be able to reach an agreement concerning their presidential future.
At the time of filing this report, it is not clear whether Mr. Obi will be willing to be a Vice Presidential candidate or find a structure that will provide him with the resources to run for President.
