American singer and businesswoman, Rihanna, will be the main performer at the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023. The NFL made the announcement on Sunday, with Rihanna confirming it by posting a photo of her hand holding a football on her Instagram account.

Jay Z, whose company Roc Nation is a major partner with the NFL, described in a statement as a generational talent from humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn.

Rihanna has built a successful business career alongside her music career over the years. Forbes reported in 2021 that her Fenty Beauty makeup line and Savage Fenty lingerie collection had made her a billionaire. As a result, she became the world’s richest female musician.

Earlier in 2019, the singer declined a performance invitation in solidarity with Colin Kaeparnick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who protested police brutality against black people.

Her upcoming performance will add her to the list of musical icons who have previously headlined the show, including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and a host of others.
The Super Bowl will be held on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The event will be mainly sponsored by Apple Music.
