Spurs, Blues target £60m Carrasco

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have made offers for Atletico Madrid winger and Newcastle United target Yannick Carrasco, according to AS.

It has been reported that Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United all are interested in signing Carrasco from Atletico in the summer transfer window.

The Belgium international midfielder has ‘important offers’ from clubs in the Premier League, according to the report, which has claimed that the 28-year-old has a release clause of €60 million (£51.53 million) in his contract at the former Spanish champions.

Atletico head coach Diego Simeone does not want to sell the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a wing-back.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Newcastle are ready to pay €60 million (£51.53 million) for the Belgian, who in on £141,000-a-week

There are opinions that, Newcastle United could struggle to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid this summer, now that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in him.

Now, of course, we know that Newcastle are an established club in the Premier League who have wealthy owners in PIF, but Chelsea and Tottenham will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and are massive global brands.

Carrasco made 28 starts and six substitute appearances in La Liga for Atletico last season, scoring six goals and providing six assists in the process.
