Uchenna Kanu, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala were on the scoresheet as the Super Falcons of Nigeria pummeled the Matildas of Australia by three goals to two.

The Australians took control of the game from the beginning as they had a better ball possession in the opening half.

They eventually took the lead in the first half added time through Emily Van Egmond’s low pile driver. However, the Super Falcons wasted no time to level score through Uchenna Kanu.

In the second half, the Super Falcons started on the front burner as Osinachi Ohale nodded in the second goal off a goal mouth scramble.

Asisat Oshoala increased the rally for the Super Falcons after a defensive blunder between an Australian defender and their goalkeeper.

Australia got their second goal in the second half but the Super Falcons were able to hold them off.

Nigeria’s last group game comes up on Monday, against the Republic of Ireland at 11am, Nigeria time.
