The suspended Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris, has been released from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody.
The Head of Media and Public Affairs of the commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed this on Thursday, citing that Idris was released after fulfilling all bail conditions.
“I do not have an idea of what the bail conditions are, but all I can tell you is that he has been released after meeting his bail conditions,” he said.
Idris was arrested on May 16 by the EFCC for allegedly diverting and laundering N80 billion
According to the EFCC, verified intelligence reports showed that Idris generated the funds through bogus consultancy and illegal activities by proxy or family members and close associates.
Idris was arrested following his failure to honour several invitations by the EFCC to answer allegations connected to fraudulent activities.
