World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is excited about Serena Williams returning to tennis as she is looking forward to seeing the 23-time Grand Slam champion at Wimbledon. On Tuesday, Williams took to Instagram to reveal her plans to compete at Wimbledon.
Williams hasn’t played since last year’s Wimbledon and she is set to return after being out for 12 months. “SW and SW19. It’s a date. 2022 See you there. Let’s go,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “What a news, see you there,” Swiatek commented under Williams’ post.

Swiatek was scheduled to play Berlin and Wimbledon during the grass season but she decided to withdraw from this week’s WTA event in Berlin. Grass is not Swiatek’s strongest surface and it will be interesting to see how she does at Wimbledon without much preparation.
Swiatek has won her last 35 matches and she could potentially improve her winning streak to 42 if she wins Wimbledon. “I think when I’m going to start Wimbledon I’m just going to think about getting through the first matches.

I won’t think about the streak because I know it’s not helping me. I did the same here and I know how to separate my mind from that and focus on tennis,” Swiatek said on the WTA insider podcast. “But right now for sure, I can think about that a little bit more and I would love to add some matches to that streak.
