The Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has responded to a comment made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Osun State.
Tinubu described the Labour Party as a mushroom political party during an APC rally for the state’s upcoming governorship election. He advised voters to avoid parties like the PDP and other mushroom parties such as the Labour Party because they would force them to work until they died.
During a Labour Party campaign in Osun on Wednesday, Peter Obi described Tinubu’s campaign as one founded on hatred. He vowed, however, not to follow Tinubu’s path of hatred, but rather to respond with love. “There is dignity in labour,” he said.
Obi assured his supporters that the main way to change Nigeria is to remove those who have wreaked havoc on the country over the last 23 years.
He urged Osun residents to vote for the Labour Party in order to secure their future in the state.
Furthermore, Julius Abure, National Chairman of the Labour Party, stated that people should not sell their votes on Saturday, no matter how tempting it may be, because selling their votes means selling their future.
