Tinubu Leads Dangote, Otedola, Elumelu, Ovia, Onyema, 33 Other Business Leaders to India

A high-level delegation of Nigerian business leaders and industrialists will join President Bola Tinubu at the Nigeria-India Presidential roundtable and conference in New Delhi, India. The event, scheduled for September 6, 2023, is a joint initiative of the Nigerian High Commission in India, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Nigeria-India Business Council (NIBC). President Tinubu will deliver a keynote address at the conference.

The delegation comprises 38 prominent businessmen and investors from various sectors of the Nigerian economy, including Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa and Chairman of the Dangote Group; Femi Otedola, Chairman of the Femi Otedola Foundation; Chidi Ajaere, Chairman/CEO of the GIG Group; and Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace.

According to a letter from the Nigerian High Commissioner to India, Ambassador Ahmed Sule, to the Indian High Commission in Abuja, the delegation members require entry visas to attend the conference.

Some of the other notable businessmen and CEOs in the delegation are: Abdul Sama Rabiu, Kola Karim, Julius Rone, Bola Shagaya, Folurunsho Alakija, Mohammed Indimi, Arthur Eze, Razak Akanni Okoya (Eleganza), Emeka Offor, Cosmas Maduka, Jim Ovia, Adewale Tinubu and others. The letter from Ambassador Sule stated that the conference was organised to “enable them attend the Nigeria-India Presidential roundtable and conference organized by the High Commission in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Nigeria-India Business Council (NIBC) to be addressed by his Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Among the business leaders that Sule named are: “Alhaji Aliko Dangote – Chairman/President, Dangote Group; Mr Tony Elumelu – Chairman/Founder, Tony Elumelu Foundation; Alhaji Abdul Sama Rabiu – Chairman/Founder, BUA Group; Mr. Femi Otedola – Chairman/Founder, Femi Otedola Foundation; Mr Kola Karim – GMD/CEO, Shoreline Natural Resources; Hajiya Bola Shagaya – Founder/CEO, Balmus Group International; Mrs. Folurunsho Alakija – GMD, The Rose of Sharon Group; and Alhaji Mohammed Indimi – Chairman/CEO, Oriental Energy Resources Ltd.”

Tinubu has been invited to attend the upcoming G-20 Summit in New Delhi as a special guest, which will take place from September 9 to 10.
