Senator Ebenezer Ikeyina, a former Senator representing Anambra central senatorial district has emerged as the Presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Ikeyina’s emergence might have blocked the chances of Bola Tinubu crossing over if he fails to secure the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the Chairman of the National Convention Committee, Chief Mike Odunride, Ikeniya secured 307 votes out of the 311 delegates accredited. Two voted against while one vote was void.
The Acting National Chairman of the faction, Chief Supo Shonibare, expressed optimism that the party’s candidates would be victorious at the polls next year.
