Tonto Dikeh Emerges ADC Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of Rivers State.

Nollywood celebrity, Tonto Dikeh has been nominated as the running mate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Gubernatorial Candidate, Tonte Ibraye.
The actress took to her Instagram page to address her fans on this development as well as the party’s social agenda come 2023;
“I thank Mr Tonte Ibraye the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate. We are looking forward to investing massively in social protection, creating a social value system for young people, increasing women’s inclusion in our governance system, supporting small businesses and strengthening our traditional institutions to be active players in the drive to bring sustainable development to the good people of Rivers State. I am glad to be a proud member of the #RiversRescueMission2023”
The news of her emergence as the ADC Deputy Guber candidate was received with mixed reactions on social media. While some celebrate and congratulate her on this achievement, others have expressed their reservations citing instances where she was embroiled in various controversies.
However, Mr Tonte Ibraye revealed in a recent press conference in Abuja the rationale behind his choice of Tonto Dike as his running mate;
“I have worked closely with Tonto Dikeh for more than a year now, and she has been part of the party for a very long time. She has been following up with the primary process, an advocate of transparency, and I believe I did not make any mistake in choosing her as my running mate. She has so many things, such as creating employment opportunities” “She has a farm here in Abuja and Rivers state; not just that; she has supported many young people in growing businesses. Every Year, she sends about 3,500 young people back to school.” “When it comes to choosing a running mate, many people look at a lot of indicators, but for me, there are certain indicators I look at, are you able to employ young people and create employment for the people of Rivers and Nigerians, what is your disposition towards women and youth inclusion, believe me, Tonto Dikeh has all of that qualification,” he said. “Any day, any time, I am proud to work with her as my running mate. Tonto and I are coming on a rescue mission; we want to rescue the people of Rivers State.”
