In the most recent news following Elon Musk’s takeover of social media app Twitter, Twitter plans to charge $19.99 per month for the verification badge.

The new changes are set to be implemented in the Twitter Blue subscription, which includes the verification badge. Furthermore, Twitter accounts that have already been verified will be required to comply with the new system and pay for the “Blue Tick.”

According to the report, verified users will have 90 days to migrate to Twitter Blue or risk losing their blue tick. Twitter employees have also been tasked with making Twitter Blue globally functional by November 7th.

Twitter Blue was introduced last year as a service that provides a paid monthly subscription for exclusive access to premium features. According to Twitter, this will allow users to tailor their Twitter experience to their preferences. The service has so far been launched in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Elon Musk intends to take Twitter Blue global and alter the service’s payment structure. Twitter Blue is available in eligible countries as an in-app purchase on the iOS and Google Play stores.
