Another erstwhile Nollywood veteran has gained attention and becomes the latest buzz on social media. VIP Magazine follows the series of events unfolding after internet users received hints about the poor condition of one of Nollywood’s former stars.
It all started with the Igbo Times tweet that “Veteran Actor, popularly known as Aguba, is reported homeless.” This post quickly became viral with reactions from Nigerians. While some simply sympathised with the “Perfect Kingdom” actor, others expressed their shock and dissatisfaction, questioning why the Actors Guild of Nigeria has not helped “one of their own”.
In response to the outrage on social media, the Guild released a statement on how it had helped the actor for four years until recently when his condition degenerated hinting that “his problem might be spiritual”
“The National President of the Guild, Ejezie Emeka Rollas wishes to state in clear terms that the Guild has never abandoned Kenneth Aguba. Enugu State chapter of the Guild and individual members have been supportive in both provisions of accommodation and medical interventions in the past four years to the veteran actor until his matter which could be a spiritual issue, degenerated recently. “Meanwhile, the National President wishes to thank good-spirited members who have called to show concern and willingness to provide immediate intervention.”
However, things took an interesting turn when the controversial actor, Yul Edochie took to his Twitter account, saying that a video clip should be made of Aguba calling out his account number. “This one na small matter. Me I don’t believe in too much talk or time-wasting. Just get him to do a short video calling out his account details and post it online. We’ll do crowdfunding for him. He’ll never lack anything again.” He wrote.
Despite his seemingly good intentions, his tweet caused quite a stir on social media as upset Nigerians questioned why he needed visual proof before helping, seeing that it was his senior colleague, someone who had acted with his father, Pete Edochie.
Meanwhile, the Pastor of Omega Power Ministry (OPM) Apostle Chibuzor Chineye waded into the matter and saved the actor by providing accommodation and free feeding in their OPM estate. He also offered free medical treatment for the ailing veteran.
Aguba is reported to have arrived in Port Harcourt and now doing fine.
In another development, the OPM Pastor declared his intention to marry off the actor. OPM took to their social media stating Apostle Chibuzor will find the actor a wife to care for him.
On the heels of this post, a Nigerian lady wasted no time in declaring her interest. She wrote;
“I heard the General overseer of OPM is looking for a wife for Kenneth Aguba, please Tell Him I (Annastasia Micheal Olamma ) am willing to marry him, I am ready to be Mrs Aguba ❤❤ I will love him and take care of him very well. They should come and see my people biko. I am 24 years old and I am from Enugu state. Aguba Deserves to marry me because I am a wife material 1000 yards, I can help him regain his sanity and I will take very good care of him and feed him well. I can’t wait to marry my Agubabym.” AguAnna2022
However, the pastor released terms and conditions for any lady that is willing to marry him as follows;
“You must live with him for ten years after the wedding without separation or divorce. Meaning that both of you must live together for 10 years. After 10 years, you are free to either remain in marriage or divorce.
You shall operate a joint account for the business OPM is opening for both of you. Meaning; that for any bank withdrawals, both of you must go to the bank together.
You must never deny him access to perform his conjugal rights after the wedding.
A team from the church would be visiting your home once a month to ensure that everything is going on well and peaceful. For any lady that agrees to these conditions, send your phone number so we can commence the marriage process then, move forward.”
