For two hours on Wednesday evening, all partisan lines were erased as prominent individuals were welcomed to the Platinum Jubilee organised by the British High Commissioner, Ms Catriona Laing, CB in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign and official birthday.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan was spotted at the event exchanging warm greetings with the publisher of VIP Magazine, Mr Talabi Taiwo O. Michael. Goodluck Jonathan was also seen in the company of former Vice President Namadi Sambo as well as NNPP Presidential Aspirant, Rabiu Kwankwanso.
Other dignitaries present at the event include APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline K. Tallen, EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa and Sen. Ben Murray Bruce (a.k.a Mr Common Sense).
Members of the diplomatic community also turned up in their numbers including Ms Samuela Isopi, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, and Swedish Ambassador Carl Michael Grans.
