There are emerging reports suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police (IG), Olukayode Egbetokun, is considering a plan to withdraw Mobile Police Force personnel currently assigned to the wife of the former president, Aisha Buhari.

Unconfirmed sources also indicate that this proposed action may extend to other prominent figures, including the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and former governors of Ogun and Imo states, Gbenga Daniel and Rochas Okorocha, respectively. Additionally, the report mentioned Daura Buhari, brother to former President Muhammadu Buhari, and erstwhile Gombe state governor, Danjuma Goje.

The reports cited a memo allegedly emanating from the Force headquarters, bearing reference CB: 4001/DOPS/45PMF/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.15/353 and purportedly signed by the AIG MOPOL.

As of now, the Nigeria Police has neither confirmed nor released any official statement regarding the potential withdrawal of its personnel from VIPs and former governors. The situation remains unverified and subject to further updates.

We will keep a close eye on the developments and provide accurate information as soon as official statements are made available.
