Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has reportedly delayed the release of his fifth studio album, “More Love, Less Ego.”
The album, which was set to be released by Midnight on Thursday, November 3rd, saw the release of two singles in the build-up. “Bad to Me,” released in September, and “Money and Love,” which was released last week as the second single for the album.
However, with the death of his colleague Davido’s son Ifeanyi on Monday, Wizkid appears to have delayed the release of his album by a week.
Wizkid had previously responded to Ifeanyi’s death by deleting some of the album promotional tweets he had posted hours before the tragic news broke. There were also reports that he cancelled some performances due to the death of the toddler.
Ifeanyi, who had just turned three on October 20th, was reported to have drowned in a pool at Davido’s Banana Island home after being left unattended by his caregivers.
The new release date has not yet been confirmed on streaming services such as Apple Music. However, according to Amazon Music, “More Love, Less Ego” will be released on November 11, 2022.
