WizKid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ Goes Gold in America.

Ayo Balogun, better known as WizKid, has reached a new career high after his album “Made in Lagos” sold 500 thousand units in the United States.

WizKid’s fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos,” was released on October 30, 2020 to critical acclaim. Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems, Damian Marley, and Terri all make appearances on the album, which was executive produced by P2J. On August 27, 2021, the deluxe edition was released. It also features Buju and Justin Bieber as special guests.

The album has received over a billion streams on various music platforms since its release. It has 322 million streams on Apple Music, 229 million streams on Spotify, and 227 million streams on YouTube, according to data from various platforms. According to Audiomack data, the album has received over 140 million streams and 40 million streams on Boomplay.

“Made in Lagos” was also awarded silver status in the United Kingdom for selling over 60,000 units by early 2022. The album was certified gold in the United States after selling 500,000 units. Furthermore, after 72 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, it holds the record for the longest charting album by an African artist on the Billboard charts.
