Yul Edochie, a Nollywood actor, has described how accepting polygamy brought him blessings and elevated his two wives, May and Judy.
On Thursday, the father of five wrote a lengthy Instagram post about how God used the polygamy situation to bless him and his wives.
Yul compared himself to David in the Bible, stating that he communicated with God every day.
“God works in mysterious ways,” Yul said. Marrying a second wife has blessed me and elevated my two lovely wives.
“Sometimes what we perceive as disappointments occur in order for elevation to occur.” It happened numerous times in the Bible, including in the case of Joseph.
“I’m a God-fearing man.” I resemble King David from the Bible. Every day, I communicate with my God, and He guides me.
“I wronged my wife May by the way I went about it, and I sincerely apologized to her from the bottom of my heart, but things are different in God’s eyes.”
Yul explained how polygamy helped his wives, saying, “My wife, May, just signed her first endorsement deal.” Something that had never occurred in all these years. And this came after what many saw as a letdown.
“I’ve realized that God’s ways are not the same as mine. Many more opportunities will still come her way because she is a wonderful person.
“My wife Judy is as well. She, too, has been promoted. Her career is now more well-known, and she has a lot going for her.
“I’m not even going to talk about myself. My celebrity has tripled. My name is being mentioned in places it has never been mentioned before. My children are fortunate.”
The actor sparked outrage on social media in April when he announced his marriage to Judy, adding that she already had a child for him.
May, his first wife of 17 years, has four children with him.
